Ft. Myers Beach Area Information

Fort Myers Beach Sends a Warm, Tropical Welcome!

Ft. Myers Beach is the ultimate family vacation destination. Our seven miles of soft white sandy beaches share the calming warm waves of the Gulf of Mexico. Combined with a gentle breeze, the result is a relaxing international destination offering sunny days ending with gorgeous sunsets mirrored in those tranquil waves.

Many weddings are performed on these same beaches capturing the beauty nature has provided. These beaches are a destination and wonderful setting for weddings! Further, kids and adults alike can be seen building sandcastles like the world champion professionals who grace our beaches during the American Sandsculpting Championship Festival held each November.

Ft. Myers Beach is located on the white sandy beaches and warm emerald waters of the Gulf of Mexico in Lee County, Florida just 20 miles from the Southwest Florida International Airport. Ft. Myers Beach has grown from a quaint fishing village to a prime vacation destination.

The town of Ft. Myers Beach was born December 31, 1995. Every year at Time Square (on Fort Myers Beach) the fireworks boom to celebrate the beginning of the New Year and to say Happy Birthday Town of Ft. Myers Beach!” We love our little piece of paradise on the Gulf of Mexico shoreline.

Ft. Myers Beach is a vacation destination that offers accommodations including everything from five-star hotels, wonderful resorts and vacation rentals, to quaint bed and breakfast spots. This romantic getaway is family friendly, fun, and truly defines Florida’s Florida. We enjoy a high rate of return of our visitors because our destination is family friendly, our atmosphere relaxing, and the beaches and waters are breathtaking. Why not ask the dolphins who often visit our beach pier!

If things to do on the water makes your destination more special, Fort Myers Beach has terrific fishing opportunities for those who want to compete in tournaments or relax on a charter boat. Windsurfing, kayaking, paddleboarding, sailing and all sorts of water sports are favorite ways to enjoy our Gulf waters.

Our Ft. Myers Beach restaurants present a wide range of dining experiences to please any pallet. Our seafood is fresh off the most productive shrimp docks in the state. Our docks are a destination for the shrimp boat captains. Ft. Myers Beach residents know that fresher seafood can only be found in your own fishing net. Our restaurants get their seafood fresh off these docks featuring grouper, snapper and shellfish. Our local shrimp boats pull in a bounty of pink shrimp and rock shrimp. What these shrimpers bring in the morning can be on your plate that night. If you are a meat and potatoes person, we also enjoy fresh beef that will satisfy the heartiest of appetites.
